Early Valentine's Day/Anniversary Gift...

From my kids!  With Tomorrow being Valentine's Day...and it is also my 17th wedding anniversary.  My daughter wanted to give us our Valentine's/Anniversary gift early since she has to go to school tomorrow.

This is what my husband and I got....I absolutely LOVE homemade gifts!

We got a HUGE card and my daughter baked us a heart shaped cake! My daughter, Aimee and my 6 year old son David made the card and they all signed it.
Front of the card
Inside the card!  They ran out of Alphabet stickers so they left out the "e" in anniversary.
The back of the card....The top 2 pictures are of my older kids.  It is their Kindergarten pictures.  The bottom 2 are my littlest.  They are around 3 or 4 years old in the pictures.
And the cake.  And yes, I was married on Valentine's Day!

Have a wonderful Day!

Thursday 13-"S" Words

This week I thought I would share 13 things about me that begin with the letter 'S'!
  1. Shy~I am extremely shy.  In “Real Life” it takes me while to be comfortable with people.  Usually a good 6 or so months before I come out of my proverbial shell.
  2. Sister~I am a sister.  I have one little sister.  I have always called her my baby sister and always will.  She is one person that will always have my love and support no matter what.  She is also a whopping 8 years younger than me.
  3. Six-~The number of people in my family or Seven(my favorite number) if you count the Cat.
  4. Sons~I have three of these.  Daniel-Jacob, Zachary and David.  I never dreamed that I would be the mother of 3 son’s.   Each one of them brings something totally different to our family.  People say you can tell they are brother.  People think they all look just a like.
  5. Sing~This is something that the women in my family enjoy doing.  I enjoyed singing since I was a little girl.  Music is/was a HUGE deal in my family.  My sister sings.  My mother sings.  My dad can sing when and if he wants to.  All my uncles have WONDERFUL voices.  And I have a Aunt that sings beautifully as well.  Aimee also sings and I am bias but she is getting pretty good.
  6. Sentimental~Oh my gosh, how this word descibes me to a T.  I am a very sentimental person.  When I even touch or look at a recipe book….I think of my grandma.  Sometimes Aimee will say something just right and I can imagine her saying that as a 3 year old.  Same goes for the boys.
  7. Spring~Spring is my favorite season.  And I just realized it about a week ago.  I used to say Winter and Spring…but now Spring has it hands down.
  8. Sorry~IMO this word doesn’t get said often enough.  And it is such a simple word with a powerful meaning.  I admit, I have to work on this myself.  Some people (including myself) act like if they even say ‘Sorry’ that it is going to come out and bit them.
  9. Silly~I love watching my kids acting silly.  I like acting silly around my kids and seeing there faces of dread…
  10. Schedule~My kids thrive on schedules.  If something is ‘off’ on there schedule then you can sure tell it by there groochy mood.  My older two have actually put themselves on there own schedules and have developed there own “habits”  Of course some of them are good and some are bad.
  11.  Soapapia~This is one of my top 5 favorite “S” words.  My father in law gave me this as my ‘nick-name’ because for the life of him he couldn’t remember Suprina.  So he just said he was going to call me ‘Soapapia’.  I didn’t mind and thought it was very sweet.   I don’t know too many father in laws that give there daughter in law's nick names.  I love my father in law so much.  I couldn’t have asked for a better father in law or mother in law.
  12. Sarah- The name of my soft lovable Maine Coon Cat.
  13. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!--I love this 'word'.....love the song.....

Why were we in the ER, all day yesterday??
My daughter broke her pinky finger by running into her room to turn on her light and hit the frame of her door.  Yet another reason; NOT to run in the house.

Leslie Sansones Walk Weight Loss Bootcamp Review...

Leslie Sansone's Walk Weight Loss Bootcamp
Review
I have talked about this workout DVD a couple of times on my blog.  I absolutely love Leslie Sansone's Walking Workout DVDs.  I own several of them. I am also looking forward to purchasing her Walk-Kick DVD Workout.

I was so super excited to get this bootcamp work out....and after using it for over a week...I am extremely disappointed!  The Music is so so repetitive...almost annoying.  It is the same music she uses on most of her workouts.

The work out is 45 minutes long.  With three miles built into that 45 minutes.  I didn't even feel winded or out of breath when I was done...and I also used weights.  I did like the bands...but can do those exercises on my own without even going through the DVD.  That was the only 'bright' side to this workout (IMO).  I spent $14.00 to purchase 2 cheap looking plastic bands.  I know Leslie Sansone can do much better than this.

I must be more advanced than I thought....this *might* be a great workout for a beginner.  I am keeping the bands but selling the DVD on eBay.

I hope you all are having a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday!  Who are you rooting for?  I really don't care who wins.  None of my 3 favorite teams are apart of the Super Bowl this time.

Take Care!

Thursday 13--My List of Give Up's

After losing 96 pounds in 8 months I thought I would post a list of "Give Up's".

1.  After losing 96 lbs, I have given up being afraid of what the doctor will say to me when I go in for a checkup.
2. I have given up several of my pants sizes and had the opportunity to switch over from the plus size stores/departments and can now shop in just about any store I want to shop in.
3. I have successfully given up supporting the soda industry and enjoy drinking water everyday.
4. I've given up hours of watching TV a day, and instead workout, find healthy recipes....just enjoy life to the fullest instead of being a couch-potato.
5. I've given up feeling alone in my weight loss journey to having lots of friends who support me on a daily basis.
6. I've given up a future of potential diseases and immobility for an improved health outlook and the ability to do things for myself. I ditched immobility for my love of walking and working out.
7.  I've given up "mom" jeans for skinny Jeans.
8. I have given up feeling lazy, sad, unmotivated and moody for being Happy, healthy, a doer, and excited about life!
9.  I have give up eating everything in sight...to eating everything in moderation. I don't deprive myself.
10. I have given up feeling ashamed about how I look.  Now I walk with pride.
11. I have given up my 277 pound body for my 180 pound body----for the time being (still have 36 pounds to loose).
12. I have given up not throwing everything into my grocery cart....instead I read labels and take time to learn about the food that goes into my mouth.
13. I have given up the Guilt.  The guilt of not being able to keep up with my four great kids.  Now, I can keep up with them, chase them, play catch, run after them.....they are the lights of my life!

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.  And take a moment of the day to do just one thing for yourself!

Got 2B Root Boosting Spray...Review

And thickening non-aerosol hairspray Review!  I gotta tell ya, I just love BOTH of these!  I have super thin and super fine hair.  I was looking for a new hairspray and noticed this at my local Walgreens.  The hairspray is a travel size.  I wanted a hairspray that would let my hair flow but still retain it's shape.  This does that.  No more mommy dos (ponytails) for me now that I have found this.

The root-boosting spray is also just as awesome.  I can't even feel them in my hair.  Yet I can see the difference from when I don't use them and then when I do.  I can't wait to try more of their products for fine/thin hair!  The two together I paid $4.99 for and also got back a $2.00 register reward to use on my next Walgreens purchase.

If you have fine, thin, dry, fly away hair...I highly recommend these products.

For a little bonus today...a few days ago I posted my Nana's Banana Pudding recipe on my recipe blog...

I hope you all are had a fabulous day.

Furbabies...

Hey Guys!
Do you have any fur babies?  I just realized that I haven't even shown a pic of my fur baby; Sarah.
A little over a year and a half ago, we lost (he passed away) our solid black cat Baloo.  Baloo comforted our son that has ADHD.  He really wanted another cat....and so did we....
We just wanted to pick the right cat.  So 2 days before Christmas 2009, My husband went to our local shelter...He couldn't decide between a 3 year old cat and a 10/12 week old kitten.  So he called me and I looked them up on petfinder.
I didn't save the picture of the gray 3 year old cat.  But his name was Columbo!
Here is the picture that was listed on petfinder for the kitten...
I was just in awwww at this picture of all these little kittens but only two were left.  A brother and a sister.  The one on the far left and the one immediately beside her.  The one on the far left is the one we chose.  We wish we would have got her brother now.  While my husband was paying the adoption fee for her...another couple came in and had her in the viewing room.  When the guy that was helping my husband went to get her...the couple let out a 'awwww'.  They wanted her.

We got her just in the nick of time.....and we are so in love with her.  She is a big part of our family now.  We are almost sure that her brother was adopted out that same day.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the little girl.
She was just a few months old in this picture.  She loved watching our fish Roxie (who has since died).
To Long for her cat bed.  She got a new one for Christmas and she absolutely loves it.
This is one of my favorite pictures of her.  I just happened to be quick enough to get it.
I was taking pictures of some of the things I craft and she had to get in on the action.  Such a love!
This was her favorite spot to sit.  However, she ruined my laptop by spilling water on it.  That I had left by the computer!  Shame on me....not her.
Pretty Girl!
She is a Maine Coon Cat!  She is as soft as silk.  She loves playing fetch and loves playing with her toys.  She loves to greet everyone good morning and she loves 'tucking' every kid in bed at night.  All of us have got to be in our places at night for her to rest....and play and wake me up during the night because she wants me to play with her pink boa with her....ugggh!
She now weighs about 12 pounds.  She goes to see the vet next month for her shots.  We are hoping and praying we have her for a very long long time.  She is just a joy to us.

I hope you all have had a wonderful Saturday....

~*Shopping~*Shopping~*Shopping*~Day 2

Here is another Shopping trip summary!
My shopping trip to Wal-Mart.
I love exercising...and trying out new Exercising dvd's.  I have been using two of Leslie Sansone's Dvd's and wanted to pick up a few more.  I picked up just one (they didn't have the other's that I wanted).  And I picked up some one pound walking weights.
I can't wait to try out the weights and the Dvd.  I will start the Walk Weight Loss Bootcamp on Monday. Using the Bootcamp 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, and Fri.).  And doing another one of her dvd's using the weights on Tuesday and Thursday.  I will ride my bike on the weekends.  I think it is good to change up exercise routines.  It shocks the body and gives it a push.
Like I said, I bought My Walk Weight Loss Boot Camp at Wal-mart for $14.00.  You can get it off of Amazon.  It is 18.49 at amazon.
The weights are only a pound each.  They are walking weights.  I paid $6.77 for them.  Next month, I am going to pick up the two pound weights.

On over to their clearance section they had a few Christmas items left.  I picked up 3 of these beaded Garland.  I paid $.75 each for them.    I saved $6.75.  My husband didn't like them.  So I don't know if I will get to use them next year or not (we have 2 Christmas Trees).  If not, I will give them or donate them to someone that can use them.
There ya go...the end of my shopping trip.  I hope you all are having a fabulous day.

Suprina

~*Shopping~*Shopping~*Shopping*~Day 1

Hey Guys!
Last night before the snow hit my area, my daughter and I did some shopping.  And my husband and I went back out again today.
Thought I would show you what I got. Some where pretty good deals.
First Stop:  One of my favorite places to shop....Kohl's.
I wanted to pick up a couple of things.  The Sunglasses and the Christmas Bear Gift Set.  And that is what I did.
Relic Sunglasses!  I just love these and the picture really doesn't do them justice.  A couple of nights ago, I went onto Kohl's Website..They have NONE of their Relic Sunglasses advertised online.  Mine are called Walpole 1 in Silver.  Original price was $26.00.  I paid $19.50. I saved $6.50.  Not the best savings...I will take it.

Also picked up the Christmas Gift Bear Set!  I picked up two this time...and when I got home I wished I had got one more for my Grandma Dixie!  Originally these were $12.00 each.  I got them for $2.50 each.  Paying only $5 for both. Saving $19.00.

I also picked up some cute Simply Vera Vera Bradley Flip Flops!  I really like her line of clothing at Kohl's.  Best thing is that I can actually fit into them.
I paid $4.40 for them.  Saving $17.60!  They are really cute on.

Next was Dollar Tree!  I love going into Dollar Tree.  You just never know what they are going to have.  I bought some of the cutest wrapping paper for Christmas there a few weeks ago. Of Course, Everything in the Dollar tree is a buck.

I bought a basket for my closet to put things in.  A spiral cupcake Note Book and The Bra Clips-I have been wanting to try those out for a long time.  I thought for a buck....Why not!

Onto Target!  I have been looking for a smaller wallet for a while and just haven't found anything that I liked.   That is until I looked at this wallet.
It is so neat how it opens up.
I paid $7.99 for it.  It is compact which is what I wanted.  While there I also found a little purse that I absolutely love.  It was on sale for $7.95, last one. I snatched it up.
I know it is a Gold color.  But I like it.  I also know that it is small.  When I go out without my kids I like to carry a smaller handbag.  A bigger one when I have the kids with me.

That concludes Day one of my shopping Haul.  I will post what I got today-Tomorrow.

I hope everyone has had a fabulous day.  Tomorrow is another snow day for my kids.

Ten Things I Can't Live Without....

Hey Guys!
I thought I would share with you 10 things I can't live without.  Now My family, kids, husband, cat, God....etc. Those are all a given...These are the things I can't live without!

1. Nail Polish!  I have a strange love for nail polish!
2.  My Scale.  I weigh my self daily.  Every morning at roughly the same time.  I used to weigh once a week. Now it is daily to help me keep on top of my weight loss.  My weigh in days where I actually record a loss or gain is Thursdays.
3.  Facebook!  It is how I keep up with all my family and friends.  They all live in another state than I do.  So it is neat to see what is going on in the lives of my friends and family on a somewhat daily basis.
4.  Lip Gloss/Lip Stick-  I just don't know why I have this need to get every lip stick and lip gloss known to man.  But I do.

5. Bracelets!  I absolutely Love Bracelets! I don't have many....yet!  But the few I do have I absolutely love.  And somewhere in my house my favorite snake bracelet lurks until I can find it again....~sigh~
6.  Television!  I absolutely love to watch The Golden Girls, Dancing with The Stars, Castle, Blue Bloods....etc.
7.  Music!  I simply can not live with out my Music.  I like just about any kind of Music.  Music to me soothes the soul!
8. Exercise!  I love to Exercise.  Yes, some day's I have to force myself to work out.  But that is just myself being Lazy.  Once I get up and actually DO it!  I Love it and have a hard to stopping!
9. My Microwave!  I would be so lost without it.  My kids would also be so lost without it.
10. Water!  8 Months Ago I would have said, "Cherry-Dr. Pepper" From Sonic.  But since I have cut all that out and rarely drink soda.  I wouldn't know what to do without my water.  I even make strawberry water with real strawberries so I can have a twist on Water that is healthy.
Whew!  That took longer than I anticipated!
Hope you all are staying warm. Have a wonderful day.

*~*~*~Sweet Deals~*~*~*

Hey Guys!
I absolutely love finding good deals.  I do use coupons but have become slack in using them because I have all my focus on my weight loss.  I am going to try to pick up more in using my coupons.
Yesterday, when my daughter and I went out shopping.  I did purchase two things.  I was good believe me.  I could have walked out of Kohl's with a whole lot of junk stuff.
We were browsing around there handbags, scarfs, jewelry, and seasonal items when we came across a pair of flip flops.  I picked them up and they were my size!  They were the only pair left.  Before I started loosing weight.  My foot was a size 11.  Now it is a 9 and a half.  I just HAD to get them.
Please ignore my toe nails!  I need to redo them.
The best thing is that I got them 90% off!  I only paid $1.80 for them.
Then I looked through what was left of their Christmas items.  And it was not much.  However, they did have quite a few of these little guys left.
I only picked up one.  I am going to go back sometime this next week and pick up a few more if they still have them.  I am going to use them as teacher gifts next year for my little boy's teachers.
I only paid $2.50 for it. The other's that they had left was a panda bear, and one that was in a small gift bag.  They all were $2.50.  They had more of the panda bears left than anything.
Total Saved: $26.20!!!

I can't wait to go back.  They had a pair of Relic Sunglasses that I almost picked up and now I am wishing I would have.  I am going to see if they still have them when I go back...if they do....I am going to get them!

I hope you all have a fabulous day!
